Description: Join us in our mission to combat food insecurity and support vulnerable communities by becoming a Produce Driver. In this role, you will play a vital part in our efforts to bridge the gap between surplus produce and those who need it most.
Your responsibilities will include picking up a Nissan Transit van in Encinitas that will be set up with the market supplies. Then you'll meet the market volunteer crew in La Jolla with the supplies. You can walk around and enjoy the market while the volunteers collect excess produce from market vendors. Once they're done, they will fill up your van and then you'll head to one of our Feeding Partners close by to deliver the bounty.
Requirements:
- Must be insured
- Possess a valid driver's license
- Age 25+
- Live close to Encinitas
- 3 hour shift
- Flexible scheduling, not expected to volunteer consistently.

We're a food recovery organization but not a traditional one. We go to the source of surplus produce - backyard orchards, farms, farmers' markets, and grocery stores - to recover the excess and transport it to food pantries, shelters, and other organizations that help food-insecure San Diegans.
