Our volunteer team fluctuates between 100-200 team members and has included over 1000 volunteers representing more than 60 different countries. We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to complete the initial cost analysis comparing two different styles of food production structures. Here is an overview of what the first of these structures are and our plans so far: https://www.onecommunityglobal.org/aquapinis-and-walipinis/

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent (or near completion)
  • Experience in cost analysis for construction projects
  • Experience working with food production structures is preferred, but not required
  • Working with sustainable materials is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills in a remote work setting
  • Must be comfortable with or willing to learn how to use Google Docs and Dropbox for collaboration
  • Willing to contribute 10 weekly hours for a minimum of 2 months (remote work)

THE TASK

We are seeking a Civil Engineer to complete the initial cost analysis comparison of two different types of in-ground, indoor structures that aim to provide different environments for diverse food growth and production. In this role, you will analyze our plans and create a cost analysis for these structures.
