Our volunteer team fluctuates between 100-200 team members and has included over 1000 volunteers representing more than 60 different countries. SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • BSME, BS Electrical Engineering, or equivalent (or near completion)
  • Experience working with electrical and/or lighting plans
  • Good mechanical aptitude
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to solve complex problems
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills in a remote work setting
  • Access to the design software you'll use (Student License is acceptable)
  • Experience working with food production structures is a bonus
  • Comfortable with or willing to learn Google Docs and Dropbox for collaboration
  • Willing to commit a minimum of 10 weekly volunteers for at least 2 months (remote work)

THE TASK

One Community is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to complete the electrical and lighting plans for our aquapini and walipini structures. These in-ground, enclosed food production structures aim to produce a year-round variety of nutritious food in diverse climates. For this position, you will help finalize the electrical and lighting plans for these structures in order to maximize sustainability and optimize food production.
