Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Democratism

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.

Democratism is looking for grassroots advocates to join a team of volunteers and advance model legislation to end the Electoral College and create proportional representation in Congress. Advocates will lead efforts in their local community (town, city, or county) to advance this legislation, called the Democracy Decree.

Applicants should be prepared to:

  • Establish relationships with local policymakers and legislators to educate them about Democratism and its proposed legislation, the Democracy Decree
  • Strategize best practices for local organizing and movement building
  • Organize and lead local action campaigns and events. For example: tabling, campus outreach education, student group creation, and lobbying
  • Actively participate in regularly scheduled team meetings
  • Complete comprehensive training on Democratism in order to understand its mission and key objectives

People of all backgrounds and identities are strongly encouraged to apply. Because the position involves speaking as a full stakeholder in the US election system, applicants should be either living in the US or US nationals living abroad.
