One of the groups we work with has managed to raise funds for a training center in a refugee area in Jarablus, N Syria, where many refugees from the war have fled. The first cohort of graduates have been trained in computer skills and are seeking remote work! So they want to try to use upwork, but its not possible to set it up from their location, and they do not have any experience in managing it or making such a group successful.

We are looking for volunteers who would first help set up the upwork group, guide the new graduates to set up their individual profiles, and also people who might mentor on their first jobs to help make sure they establish a spotless reputation such as is needed on these kind of sites.

We are also separately working on a "Jobs for Hope" site that would be specific to hiring refugees and those in oppressive situations, that would be more understanding than gig sites like upwork or fiverr, but right now they need to get started on some remote work, and these sites exist, so we need to use them.

If this is successful we might open it to groups in other refugee communities as well, or we may be able to focus on the specific targeted site for them. Short or long term volunteers are welcome as we can tag team, but we want someone who is interested to kind of commit to specific pieces and can work pretty independently - you'll have a slack community around you and people who need help, but not micro-direction.
