Do you consider yourself cheerful and kind, do you enjoy helping others in your community? Are you patient and empathic? Are you willing to share those gifts with others during a difficult time? If so, we may have the perfect opportunity for you!
Chapters Health Hospice in Pinellas County is seeking committed Patient Support Volunteers to help our patients and families through their end-of-life journey. Hospice patients have a terminal diagnosis and limited life expectancy. Often the patient and their loved ones are dealing with many emotional stressors while under hospice care.
Our volunteers provide comfort, companionship and friendship during this time. Volunteers engage with patients in many ways depending on the patient's needs. Activities can range from reading aloud, doing puzzles, listening to music, talking, making scrapbooks, to simply sitting by the bedside, hold a hand. At times, our volunteers provide brief respite for caregivers who do the day-to-day care of their loved one. Volunteers may sit with a patient while the caregiver takes a couple of hours for themselves.
As a Chapters Health Hospice Volunteer, your presence and support can make an impact on our patients and their families. If this sounds like a good fit for you contact us today. Training is free of charge and we work with your schedule. Contact -Janie Bennett Volunteer Coordinator 727-457-5215

Mission Statement
HPH Hospice is where excellence in compassionate care maximizes quality of life
Description
HPH Hospice, founded in 1982, is a not-for-profit organization offering medical, emotional, social and spiritual support services to patients and families living in Pasco, Hernando and Citrus counties. HPH Hospice cares for families and patients affected by life-limiting illness, grief or loss. We care for the majority of our patients in their own home, surrounded by the things and the people they love. We also provide care to patients in nursing homes and assisted living facilities and in our Hospice Care Centers.
We believe dying is a uniquely significant time in every person’s life. We also believe caring for the dying requires a different pace and set of skills than other kinds of health care, with primary emphasis on physical comfort and emotional support. We believe that every individual deserves to receive care without feeling demeaned or like a burden. That family and friends need caring support, tooCAUSE AREAS
