About Us:

The Equine Rescue and Adoption Foundation INC, (ERAF) is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) tax exempt corporation devoted to the rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption of abused, abandoned, neglected, slaughter-bound, and owner surrendered horses on the Treasure Coast and throughout Florida. Through education, training, volunteerism, and industry collaborations we endeavor to provide a foundation for horses and humans to form meaningful partnerships. We strive to create, promote, and participate in the innovations, advocacies, and collaborations that promote and demonstrate the positive benefits of equines in the community.

Position Overview:

We are seeking enthusiastic and committed individuals to join our Board of Directors. As a Board Member, you will play a crucial role in guiding the strategic direction of the organization, ensuring its financial sustainability, and advancing our mission.

Responsibilities:

- Provide strategic direction and guidance to the organization.

- Actively participate in board meetings and discussions.

- Contribute expertise in areas such as finance, fundraising, marketing, legal, or other relevant fields.

- Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures.

- Support fundraising efforts and donor stewardship initiatives.

- Advocate for the organization and its mission within the community.

- Attend and actively participate in special events and activities.

Qualifications:

- Passion for our mission and a commitment to making a difference.

- Previous board or leadership experience preferred but not required.

- Expertise in areas such as finance, fundraising, marketing, legal, or nonprofit management is desirable.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

- Dedication to attending board meetings and fulfilling responsibilities effectively.

- Willingness to contribute time and resources to support the organization's goals.

Founded in 2000, Equine Rescue and Adoption Foundation (ERAF) is a 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption of abused, abandoned, neglected and slaughter-bound horses, donkeys and mules.

Description

We are an accredited rescue which means we have fulfilled the strictest requirements for those organizations that provide us funding. We have a dedicated volunteer group that help us with barn chores, paddocks, facilities, grounds maintenance, fundraising, donor outreach, special events & marketing. Our Humans Helping Horses program ensures our volunteers spend meaningful time with our rescues.
