The Donor Development Assistant Volunteer will assist with crafting, implementing of the Donor Development program at the Equine Rescue and Adoption Foundation. Reporting to the President of the Board of Directors, the Donor Development Assistant Volunteer will be responsible for driving the activities to achieve the fundraising goals as well as communicating with the Board of Directors and engaging constituents in ongoing activities. The hours for this position for flexible and will average around 20 hours per week. General Responsibilities: * Assist with the development of the fundraising strategic plan, set clear direction, and identify well-defined and measurable annual and multi-year goals inclusive of foundation/corporate/institutional partners, sponsors, individual donors, and new assets/initiatives, and actively seek and develop opportunities. * Partner with the Board of Directors to manage high-touch relationships and steward principal donors and coordinate the participation of the board in the joint cultivation * Build greater capacity, particularly in major and principal giving, corporate and foundation relations, direct response marketing and planned giving * Strengthen donor management efforts through systematic use of donor management software and data analysis * Request the production of major donor, Board and special category solicitations/support materials with the intent to retain or upgrade gifts when possible. Assist with the "message", timing, and appeal while allowing the Communications Committee/Events Coordinator & Administrative Assistant to bring the projects to fruition. * Coordinates with Data Entry to ensure all gifts and pledges and other revenues are properly recorded and acknowledged. Qualifications: * The ideal person will be enthusiastic, extremely well organized, and passionate about working in the Equine Rescue field. Virtual networking experience helpful. * CRM experience and working knowledge/understanding of social media * Must possess strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to think strategically and plan and manage multiple priorities simultaneously. * Strong communications skills including the ability to write and speak persuasively about the organization. * Ability to take the initiative and be self directed. * Degree or equivalent experience or nonprofit experience required. You will love being part of the largest Horse Rescue on the Treasure Coast. We have rescued 375 horses and adopted out 325 into loving homes. We provide these horses with the care, medicine, nutrition, training and love that brings them back to a full and productive life. The perks of being around the horses as they come to us and seeing their progression is amazing. We have an orientation you will attend to understand more about our mission, the daily operations and the different ways our volunteers contribute to our success.

Volunteers are the lifeblood of our organization. We welcome your involvement with our mission to rescue horses, rehabilitate, retrain them, and adopt them out to their forever home. We have an amazing group of volunteers. Join team ERAF and begin making a difference in the lives of these amazing animals. No horse experience necessary just a passion to support and contribute your time and talents. If you are interested in becoming an ERAF volunteer, we ask that you first submit the online interest form on our website, ERAF.org, attend a Volunteer Orientation and complete the Volunteer Registration form that will be sent to you. Unless otherwise noted, volunteer Orientation is held the first Saturday of the month at our property (6400 SW Martin Highway) adjacent to the barn. There is a $25.00 individual or $30.00 per household volunteer registration fee. When working at barn & paddock chores our volunteers work specific shifts and tasks. The shifts are 8 AM to 11AM and 2 PM to 5PM daily, seven days a week. We need a minimum of one 3 hour shift a week. We also have other volunteer opportunities that have more flexible hours. These opportunities include Facility Maintenance, Landscaping, Events and Fundraising, Grant Writing, Junior Volunteer Program, Donor Outreach, Social Media and Marketing Support, Foster & Adoption Programs, Tours.
