The Metropolitan Ministries’ Effinity team is in need of Volunteers to assist with preparing and facilitating training’s for Metro Immersions (a poverty education program).
Effinity’s Mission: Empowering a more mindful community, our in-depth trainings are delivered through impactful discussions on building resiliency, instilling a self-care practice, and understanding your community through shared experiences.
Duties:
- Printing, assembling, and organizing supplies for workshops and events
- Representing Metro & Effinity Team at tabling events
- Providing support to in-person Effinity trainings and leading trainings for Metro Immersions
- Providing technical support for virtual meetings and trainings
- Researching and creating new content, activities, and workshops for Immersions & Effinity trainings
- Volunteers should be comfortable with public speaking, in persona and virtually. WIlling to volunteer as events arise.
- Invested in our mission as an organization, and the mission of Effinity/Metro Immersions (Poverty education program - helps people learn more about poverty). Programs can run anyway from a couple hours to a couple days. They work with schools, field trips, corporate group immersions.
- Outgoing, emotionally intelligent, trauma informed, professional, organized. Comfortable utilizing Zoom & video call software.

Description
For over 40 years, Metropolitan Ministries has served poor and homeless men, women, and children in the Tampa Bay region. The Ministries has gone from a single room food pantry, to one of America's most effective and innovative caregivers. Serving 100-150 families daily through Outreach and Prevention Services, the Ministries remains committed to breaking the cycle of poverty...today, tomorrow and always. The facilities include Uplift U residential housing, a residence day care, an elementary school, adult training opportunities, a full-service kitchen that prepares 2,200 meals per day 7 days a week, and a thrift store to provide clothing for those in need and to the general public. Metropolitan Ministries also manages Compassion + Action, a collaborative that mobilizes partnerships across four counties to meet the growing need in local neighborhoods and transform the lives of families in crisis.
