**Position Overview:**
We are seeking a talented and experienced Database Architect to join our dynamic team. As a Database Architect at MedPal AI, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and optimizing the database architecture that supports our Telehealth platform. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient data management, secure data storage, and seamless data integration across various components of the system.

**Responsibilities:**
- Lead the design and implementation of the database architecture for MedPal AI, including relational and NoSQL databases, data integration workflows, and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
- Define data models, schemas, and database schemas to support user profiles, medical records, appointments, messages, configurations, and other data entities within the platform.
- Collaborate with software engineers, system architects, and product managers to understand system requirements, business objectives, and user needs, and translate them into scalable and efficient database solutions.
- Evaluate and select appropriate database technologies and tools based on performance requirements, scalability considerations, data consistency needs, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Design and implement data security measures, including encryption, access control, and audit logging, to protect sensitive healthcare information and ensure compliance with regulatory standards, such as HIPAA and GDPR.
- Develop data integration strategies and ETL pipelines to facilitate the exchange of data between internal databases, external APIs, and third-party systems, ensuring data consistency and integrity across the platform.
- Monitor database performance, diagnose performance issues, and optimize database queries, indexes, and configurations to improve system throughput, minimize latency, and enhance overall performance.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest database technologies, trends, and best practices, and incorporate them into the database architecture to drive continuous improvement and innovation.

**Qualifications:**
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- 5 years of professional experience in database architecture, database design, and database administration, with a focus on designing and implementing database solutions for complex software applications.
- Proficiency in relational database management systems (RDBMS) such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server, as well as NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, or Redis.
- Strong understanding of database design principles, data modeling techniques, and normalization/de-normalization concepts.
- Experience with data security and compliance standards, including HIPAA, GDPR, and data encryption protocols.
- Hands-on experience with database optimization, performance tuning, query optimization, and database indexing techniques.
- Familiarity with data integration tools and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes for data exchange and synchronization.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data requirements, identify database design challenges, and propose effective solutions.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
