The Women's Cancer Resource Center is a social justice non-profit organization whose mission is to improve equitable access to cancer information, support and care. All of its programs and services are 100% free.
The WCRC Summer Helpdesk internship is open for application now and runs through August, though the duration of the internship is open for discussion. The intern will interact with the general public, clients, volunteers and staff through phone, in-person and virtual contact. An important part of what the intern will do is to field phone inquiries, connecting callers to information & referrals to local and regional resources and facilitating access to WCRC and other services.
This internship is an excellent opportunity for an intern to be engaged with several WCRC programs and services to learn how they work together to serve WCRC’s clients and community. The intern will become conversant in WCRC’s programs and services and will develop a solid understanding of relevant external local health and wellness resources available for underserved populations.
The internship is an in-person only opportunity. Spanish language skills are a real plus, but not required. Volunteers are strongly encouraged to get the latest COVID-19 vaccinations if they are able, but not required. Masks are worn in all public areas of the WCRC office building.
