Lansing Area AIDS Network (LAAN) is dedicated to meeting the needs of people with HIV and preventing the spread of the virus. We offer a food pantry to provide nutritional support to those in need.
As a Food Pantry Support Volunteer, you will support Care Team Manager to help run the food pantry program by assisting with receiving large delivery of food and re-stocking shelves.
This is an in-person role averaging 2-3 hours per month. Delivery days are the 2nd Tuesday of the month from 9 - 11 am. Orientation and training provided. Office is confidential and HIV status is protected by law. Volunteers required to sign and abide by an agreement of confidentiality.
Tasks include:
-Unpacking pallets.
-Lift boxes 10 - 50 lbs
-Organize food and rotate
-Restock the shelves, fridges and freezers

HUNGER FREE AMERICA (formerly known as the New York City Coalition Against Hunger) is a national nonprofit group building a nonpartisan, grass-roots membership movement to enact the policies and programs needed to end domestic hunger and ensure that all Americans have sufficient access to nutritious food.
Our long-term goal is not just to ameliorate the problem, but also to build the people’s movement necessary to enact the economic and public policies needed to end hunger entirely. Given that hunger drains our economy and tears at our moral and civic fabric, we know that eliminating it will boost the nation both economically and spiritually. Towards that end, we’ve adopted the motto: "Ending hunger lifts us all."
