About Sanctuary Hostel

Sanctuary Hostel is an innovative nonprofit startup working to address the stray crisis all over the world, starting with Mexico. Our unique approach to addressing this problem involves building an eco-hostel that drives community-based animal welfare through educational programs. Our model plans to be self-sustaining in that we will not rely solely on donations and thus not be at risk of returning animals to the streets.

We currently have the land and architectural designs, and are currently fundraising for construction of the facility. As we continue to grow, we expect to collaborate and work with other nonprofits in both Mexico and the US to achieve our mission. Visit www.sanctuaryhostel.org for more details.

Volunteer Role Summary:

We are looking to add an experienced IT professional to help us with self hosting applications on Azure or Oracle. Look over our organization and make suggestions for apps/ tools that will help us operate more efficiently. Provide troubleshooting when self hosted applications have issues. You will work with our current IT volunteer who has a lot of experience with Windows but minimal Linux experience.

Key Responsibilities :

• Configuring Linux based tools on cloud platforms
• Troubleshooting said tools

Qualifications/Skills:

• Proven skills in Linux, self hosting, Docker and related technologies
• Experience with Google Apps Script is preferred
• Ability to work independently and asynchronously in a remote environment
• Detail oriented and not afraid to take and provide objective feedback
• Previous startup and nonprofit experience is highly preferred
