Seeking Bilingual Spanish Speaking Volunteers!

We're in need of bilingual Spanish-speakers for two different volunteer roles! Volunteers also need to speak English to communicate with our staff.

Health Advocate (time: ongoing match, weekdays 9 am to 5 pm)

1. Are you kind, a good listener, dependable, and like to help older adults in the community?
2. Appointments are during work/school hours and average 3+ hours. Volunteers can expect 1 to 4 appointments per month - your match is based on how much time you have.
3. 1:1 match with an older adult to help navigate medical appointments.
4. Accompany them to an appointment, familiarize yourself with their medical issues, and provide support and prompts for conversation with physician. Keep track of medications and reinforce understanding of any changes following the appointment.
5. We look for volunteers who can stay with the program for at least a year.

1. One-on-one match with a client who needs assistance with their bills or other financial obligations.
2. Balance checkbooks, reconcile bank statements, and assist with finance-related tasks.
3. Usually a 2-4 hour per month commitment.
4. 1-hour training session on a weekday during business hours.
5. Skills: sensitivity to elders, reliability, willingness to do minimal paperwork, and respect for confidentiality.
6. We look for volunteers who can stay with the program for at least a year.
