WHY CLOSE THE GAP NEEDS YOU

Close the Gap is looking for a team of mission-driven and empathetic program manager interns to collaborate on a nimble team that will be responsible primarily for engaging with our summer fellowship participants through weekly check-ins, virtual socials, Slack/Discord channel engagement, and workshops.

Our annual virtual summer fellowship program includes a diverse group of students who are first-generation and low-income students. We have an ambitious goal to scale our program participation by 5x, and your efforts will shape the future of our nonprofit organization, making a very tangible impact in these students’ lives, and future students for years to come.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  1. Newsletter Publication using Mailchimp:
    • Create and publish engaging monthly newsletters using Mailchimp to keep our community and stakeholders informed about the latest updates, events, and achievements of the organization.
    • Collaborate with the team to gather content, including success stories, upcoming events, and important announcements.
  2. Promote and Illustrate CTG Program Impact:
    • Craft content and develop materials such as brochures, emails, presentations, and social media posts to effectively communicate the value and impact of the CTG program to the community and potential donors, showcasing the program's achievements and importance in transforming lives and communities.
    • Analyze and interpret gathered metrics to create reports and presentations illustrating the program's effectiveness and success stories.
  3. Foster Community and Donor Relations:
    • Engage with community members, partners, and stakeholders to build relationships and foster support for the CTG program.
    • Identify fundraising opportunities through social media platforms by creating engaging campaigns, promoting donation drives, and encouraging community support.
    • Identify potential funding opportunities and support grant writing efforts as needed.
    • Assist in maintaining positive relationships with donors by providing them with regular updates on the impact of their contributions and expressing gratitude for their support.
WHO YOU ARE
  • Passionate about community development and social impact.
  • Strong communicator with excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Comfortable engaging with diverse communities and stakeholders.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data to measure program effectiveness.
  • Experience in creating engaging content for various communication channels.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and their use for community engagement and fundraising.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Proficiency in Mailchimp, Canva, and/or similar email marketing platforms.
Time Commitment:
  • Fully remote volunteer position with a commitment of 5-8 hours per week.
  • Participation in a 45-minute bi-weekly CTG team sync on Mondays at 7:00 PM PST via video conference.
  • Participation in a 30-minute bi-weekly team pod via video conference.
