WHY CLOSE THE GAP NEEDS YOU Close the Gap is looking for a team of mission-driven and empathetic program managers to collaborate on a nimble team that will be responsible primarily for engaging with our summer fellowship participants through weekly check-ins, virtual socials, Slack channel engagement, and workshops. Our annual virtual summer fellowship program includes a diverse group of students who are first-generation and low-income students. We have an ambitious goal to scale our program participation by 5x, and your efforts will shape the future of our nonprofit organization, making a very tangible impact in these students’ lives, and future students for years to come. This role will require a minimum commitment from join date to late October 2023. WHAT YOU’LL DO The following tasks will be split amongst multiple program managers depending on interest and strength. Program planning (November - January 2023) Assist in creation and launch of new year-round mentorship program Meet with previous mentors and fellows to understand what worked well for mentorship sessions Design outreach plan to find potential mentors and students Determine the application process for the program and ideal user experience Outreach (February - March 2023) Create outreach materials to increase mentor and student applications Conduct virtual info sessions for mentors and prospective students Update training materials for mentors, students, and program interns Collaborate with people operations to recruit, interview, and onboard your team of 2-3 program interns (college/recent grads) Team management (April - May 2023) Train, manage, and mentor 2-3 program interns Interview mentors and semi-finalist students Reach out to industry leaders to plan contents of workshops Plan and organize activities for virtual socials Conduct training for mentors, who will work directly 1on1 with students throughout the program Program (June - September 2023) Host or participate in weekly Sunday afternoon workshops, virtual socials Participate consistently in virtual Slack community Make sure all trackers (attendance/pulse checks) are updated in a timely manner WHO YOU ARE BA or BS degree or equivalent experience You embody high emotional intelligence to understand how people collaborate and achieve shared outcome You believe in the multiplier effect as an program manager You are passionate about creating an equitable society KEY QUALIFICATIONS Ability to commit 10 - 15 hours per week Ability to attend weekly staff meetings, currently on Thursdays at 8:00 pm PT Diligent note taking abilities and attention to detail Impeccable program management experience leveraging tools and documentation Ability to mentor and manage a team of college/grad students Empathy with program participants Commitment to advocacy, diversity and serving the community A team player who values transparency, accountability, and diversity PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience with program management Prior experience working with students in the high school and low income demographic Participated in a mentorship program before Prior experience in conducting recurring check-in’s (e.g. Resident Assistants, Research Assistants, Market Research Analysts) APPLY HERE: https://tinyurl.com/Program-Manager-Fellowship

WHY CLOSE THE GAP NEEDS YOU Close the Gap is looking for a mission-driven and empathetic operations analyst to help support scale our our impact footprint in the next 3 years by facilitating the scalability preparation through people, tech & tools, and operational processes. In this role you would be working with our program directors and functional leaders with seasonal special projects, supporting our roadmap/OKRs and board initiatives. If you are passionate about our mission to close the opportunity gap and are excited about the opportunity to create a roadmap to operational excellence, we look forward to working with you. WHAT YOU’LL DO Support our president, leadership team, and board to organize and balance priorities that help achieve organizational shared goals and outcomes, which can include ideation, scoping, and/or execution Work with Chief of Staff on the facilitation and preparation for the weekly general meetings, quarterly Board of Directors meetings, and volunteer experience planning Join special projects, from operations to programming, and support the leader in that area to succeed through project management and providing coverage Help design key upward and horizontal review processes for organizational communication, action definition, delegation, tracking, and management WHO YOU ARE BA or BS degree or equivalent work experience You embody high emotional intelligence to understand how people collaborate and achieve shared outcome You appreciate and champion processes to organize and prioritize goals You are passionate about creating an equitable society You are team player who values transparency, accountability, and diversity KEY QUALIFICATIONS 1-2 years of professional experience in business, operations, consulting, or strategy Organized and versatile in wearing multiple hats to support the team Strong written and oral communications skills Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaborate that result in organization’s outcomes Ability to commit and contribute at least 10-15 hours every week Ability to attend Weekly Staff Meetings, currently on Thursdays at 8:00pm PT PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Familiarity with project management and goal tracking tools Familiarity with SLAs and SOPs and how to embed them to multiply efforts and increase innovation rather than creating busy work and hampering innovation Ability to follow through in a direct, timely, and tactful manner Familiarity with OKRs, KPIs, or other goal setting/tracking methodologies Commitment to advocacy, diversity and serving the community APPLY HERE: https://tinyurl.com/Strategy-and-Ops-Associate
