Change a child's life and ignite a love and the skills of reading! STAIR Birmingham is searching for passionate volunteers to join our team of tutors who work with 1st and 2nd graders.
Flexible schedule: Tutoring sessions are 60 minutes on weekdays (Monday-Thursday) between 3:00 PM and 4:45 PM. You can choose the day that best fits your schedule!
No experience required! Our user-friendly curriculum provides all the training you need. We just look for individuals who are dedicated to making a difference in a child's life.

Mission Statement
At STAIR we know that students in our community are struggling with literacy. Through one-on-one afterschool tutoring, we empower students with the tools to read better and dream bigger, because every child deserves to be reading on grade level.
Description
For over 20 years, STAIR (Start the Adventure in Reading) has been helping Birmingham students "read better and dream bigger" by providing free one-on-one tutoring for 1st and 2nd grade students. By partnering with students and families, volunteers have an opportunity to come alongside their student in their literacy journey.
