Volunteers looking to get in a workout while giving back needed!

With summer approaching, we will soon be working to bail, stack, and store hay from several fields that kindly donate what grows to feed our horses. We are looking for individuals that are interested in donating a few hours of their time, when possible, to help with this process. Stacking and storing hay is an incredible workout as a single bale of first-cut hay (the first harvest) typically weighs between 35 and 50 lbs. Second-cut hay (the second harvest) is much lighter at 20 to 35 lbs. a bale. This is a great opportunity to get your exercise in while supporting a local non-profit!
Baling hay is very dependent on the weather as cut hay must have several days to dry out before it can be collected. We will send out a text message with the date, time, and location (all locations are in either McDonald, Bulger, or Burgettstown) to ask if any volunteers are able to join. We understand that the somewhat last minute nature of baling means that not all interested individuals will be able to help out every time. It is our hope that creating this database of volunteers will allow at least one or two folks to be available when needed.

Description
Our organization was founded in 2010 by Sharon Allison, a farrier and horse enthusiast with over 40 years of experience. Our goal is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome horses in need. If adoption is not possible due to the extent of an animal's illnesses and / or injuries, Promises Never Broken Foundation also serves as a safe haven where these horses will be loved as they live out the rest of their days. We are 100% volunteer run and donation funded. All contributions of goods or funds go directly into the care of the horses.
