Mission Statement
Promises Never Broken Foundation Equine Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of horses. Our tax exemption number is 27-4774907.
Description
Our organization was founded in 2010 by Sharon Allison, a farrier and horse enthusiast with over 40 years of experience. Our goal is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome horses in need. If adoption is not possible due to the extent of an animal's illnesses and / or injuries, Promises Never Broken Foundation also serves as a safe haven where these horses will be loved as they live out the rest of their days. We are 100% volunteer run and donation funded. All contributions of goods or funds go directly into the care of the horses.

This is truly a wonderful place! I'm so happy I've been presented with the opportunity to help these horses & meet some amazing people. The people that give their time to this place are the real heroes in my opinion. Without them, none of this would be possible. If you have some free time on your hands & you want to make a difference, this is a great, meaningful way to do it. I promise you, you won't regret it.

I found this organization last October. I was hooked as soon as I toured the facility. Promises Never Broken does so much for horses that were abused or abandoned. This organization lets horses live out the remainder of their lives free and in their own way. The volunteers are wonderful with the horses. I knew nothing about horses before coming here and while I have been here I have learned how to take care of horses. I call the barn my tranquil place.

I fell in love with horses when I got involved with this equine rescue in 2009, and it has been a big part of my life. The fondest memories I have of the last 15 years are of these animals and the events involving this horse rescue, and the volunteers have become lifelong friends. I can’t imagine my life without Promises Never Broken Foundation.

I started volunteering at Promises Never Broken in February. It has been the best thing for me and I love it. I love helping with the animals and I love the other volunteers. It’s changed my life and I’m so excited to continue.

When I first went to work on the farm I needed volunteer hours for school. I loved animals, but didn’t intend on staying longer than I needed. Four months later, I go to the barn twice a week, and would like to go more than that! I’ve met amazing people who have helped me, and taught me so much along the way. My nine four legged friends however are the ones I love spending my time with. Caring for them is not only fun, but rewarding, and I would highly recommend coming to volunteer with us.

I have volunteered with several community service organizations over the last three years, and I would say none are as fulfilling as Promises Never Broken. I have had such a great time getting to know all of the horses here, as well as the amazing volunteers. You will never have to do anything that you are uncomfortable with, and you get to hang out with some awesome ponies! I would highly recommend this organization to anyone who is looking to get involved.

I was looking for something fun, new, different, and productive to do. I've always admired horses, but had limited involvement with them. They are fascinating creatures, and when I saw the opportunity to get involved with them, I knew I had to call Sharon. She was looking for volunteers, and said it was fine to have no experience with horses. They would provide the training. I was thrilled when my husband said he'd join me, and now caring for these beautiful animals is part of our weekly routine. A dear friend also joined us. There is a wonderful, dedicated group of volunteers who strive to do the best for the horses. I love how much I've learned. The movement and physical exercise are good for us, too. And it's not too strenuous. If you have a soft spot in your heart for horses, and a couple hours per week to help, call Sharon!

I have volunteered with Promises Never Broken for nearly a year. I came in to gain equine experience for a national animal rescue organization with which I volunteer. I had very little experience around such large animals, but Promises has been a great organization to build my equine confidence. The training is great, and they work with my schedule. The horses, miniature horses, and barn cat are a joy, - each having their own individuality to love.

I have been consistently volunteering at Promises Never Broken Equine Rescue since the beginning of April and it has been very rewarding. The individuals who dedicate themselves to the care of these amazing animals have made me feel welcome and continue to teach me so much. I can honestly say that working with these horses has had positive impacts on my physical, emotional, and mental health (some of which has been a pleasant surprise). If you are considering an open opportunity with this Rescue, I encourage you to give it a chance -- you might find that you are able to make a difference while a difference is also made in you!
