Gender Freedom Society is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to serve as the Director of Development. This volunteer position plays a critical role in advancing the organization's mission by overseeing fundraising efforts and fostering relationships with donors and partners. The Director of Development will work closely with the Executive Team to develop and implement strategies for donor acquisition, retention, and engagement. Additionally, this role will supervise the Onboarding Manager and Finance Manager to ensure smooth operations within their respective areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies to support the mission and goals of the Gender Freedom Society.
- Identify and cultivate relationships with individual donors, corporate sponsors, and foundation partners.
- Plan and coordinate fundraising events, campaigns, and initiatives to maximize donor engagement and support.
- Collaborate with the Executive Team to create compelling fundraising materials, including grant proposals, donor appeals, and impact reports.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the Onboarding Manager and Finance Manager to optimize volunteer recruitment, training, and financial management processes.
- Monitor and evaluate fundraising activities to assess effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Stay informed about current trends and best practices in fundraising, philanthropy, and non-profit management.
- Maintain accurate donor records and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations governing non-profit fundraising activities.
- Collaborate with the Executive Team to develop and implement strategies for long-term sustainability and growth of the organization.
- Oversee VolunteerMatch leads, ensuring timely responses and engagement.
- Conduct interviews for positions within your department ensuring the recruitment of qualified and dedicated individuals.
Qualifications:
- Passion for the mission and values of the Gender Freedom Society.
- Previous experience in fundraising, development, or donor relations preferred.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and donor management software.
- Bachelor's degree in Non-profit Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred but not required.
