The KLM Foundation is seeking volunteer members for its Board. Board members play a crucial role in the corporate governance of the foundation including guiding strategic decisions, fostering accountability, and shaping the foundation's destiny. As a Member, you're expected to volunteer time and efforts to support the foundation's mission. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- preparing for, attending, and conscientiously participating in, at least, 4 board meetings per year
- participating in committees and taskforces, where applicable
- collaborating and communicating with fellow board members to ensure the mission is accomplished
- understanding the foundation's mission, purpose, policies, programs, and needs
- serving as an active advocate and ambassador for the foundation in the community
- participating in annual communty service projects and/or iniatives
- maintaining confidentiality about all internal matters of the foundation
- participating in annual fundraising and giving for the foundation
Candidates must:
- be at least 18 years of age
- possess a college degree and real-life experiences which are beneficial to the communities in which the foundation commits
- be devoted to community service and philanthropy
- be willing to commit to a minimum of 1-2 hours of service per month
- attend 4 Board meetings per year
- attend/chair designated Committees and committee meetings
All candidates meeting the requirements are considered. However, preference is given to those with experience in accounting and writing (such as grant writing).
