Overview:


The Next IT Girl is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to empowering and equipping young women African-American, Black, and of color ages 8-22 with essential technology skills. We are responsible for addressing technology education barriers facing students from low-income or underrepresented communities. Our mission is to bridge the digital divide by providing access to quality technology education, mentorship, and resources that foster innovation and excellence. Key Responsibilities:


Leadership and Strategy:

  • Work as part of the administrative leadership team overseeing the overall administrative management of multiple programs within the organization.
  • Engage in multiple and various tasks encompassing the core areas of management/leadership, hr, recruiting, contracts administration, and direct service.
  • Play a critical role in keeping the office and staff functioning smoothly, supporting the CEO, and managing the day-to-day operations effectiveness of TNIG’s office operations, including finance, human resources, vendor relations, data collection, strategic planning, and mandatory reporting functions.
  • Developing and maintaining systems that increase the quality and efficiency of our work, supporting our ability to grow and expand our mission.
  • Develop and implement processes and training programs for staff.
  • Cultivate a culture of open communication, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Creating an extraordinary employee experience for onboarding and ensure strategies, work, and goals are aligned to support the business objectives
  • Drive a progressive, proactive, positive culture, and increase levels of engagement, enablement, and retention


Management:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the organization, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and objectives.
  • Lead human resources functions, including recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, and employee relations.
  • Coordinate facilities management, including office space, equipment, rentals, and maintenance.
  • Coordinate team member logistics, including travel and accommodations, team activities.
  • Manage vendor relationships and contracts, ensuring quality service delivery and cost-effectiveness.
  • Support program operations by providing administrative and logistical support, as needed.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and systems to optimize organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support programmatic initiatives and organizational growth.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, including tax filings, reporting, and governance.
  • Monitor and evaluate operational performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Manage HR activities for employees and contractors for payroll, approval of timesheets, and resolve any payroll discrepancies; performance management, employee benefits, drafting and updating HR policies
  • Maintain, administer, and train others on the effective use of platforms and systems, including HR software, EHR, timekeeping, etc


Reporting and Communication:

  • Provide biweekly updates and reports to the CEO on the company's progress, challenges, and achievements.
  • Communicate effectively with TNIG team members to keep them informed and engaged.

Requirements:


  • A strong passion for the nonprofit's mission and commitment to creating a positive impact within the community.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate teams effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in financial management, including budgeting, financial analysis, and grant management.
  • Knowledge of human resources management principles and practices, including recruitment, training, and performance management.
  • Experience with facilities management, vendor relations, and contract negotiation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a strategic mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to the organization's mission and values.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Volunteer role, programs and/or travel required

The Next IT Girl helps close the gender and racial gap by providing technical workshops, mentorship, and career readiness for young women of color ages 8-22 who are interested in pursuing a technology career. The Next IT Girl is a non profit organization mission to educate, mentor, and advance young women of color to pursue technology careers. We are bridging the gap of race and gender to increase the representation in the tech industry. We provide technical resources and programs to support technology exposure for underrepresented girls of color to learn technology.
