Democratism seeks a Discord Moderator to develop and monitor a Discord server for volunteers in support of our democracy mission.

Responsibilities:

  • Gain an understanding of the organization’s objectives and ensure that all server activities align with Democratism’s values.
  • Collaborate with Democratism staff to develop comprehensive server rules and guidelines including appropriate topics of discussion and community member behavior.
  • Review content shared within the server to ensure compliance with communication guidelines. Encourage discussion and collaboration among community members.
  • Resolve conflicts in a fair and timely manner.
  • Strategize server development and organization including the creation of new private and public channels.
  • Assist community members in navigating Discord.
  • Stay up to date on new Discord features and updates.

Skills & Experience:

  • Proficiency and experience in utilizing Discord’s features and moderation tools
  • Demonstrated ability to mediate and resolve interpersonal conflicts
  • Prior experience moderating an online community preferred
