Internship Overview: We are seeking a passionate and skilled individual to join our team as a Social Media Intern. As a skilled volunteer, you will play a crucial role in expanding our mission and creating awareness about our initiatives. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a meaningful cause and make a positive impact on communities striving for education and personal growth.


Key Responsibilities:

Social Media Management:

  • Develop and implement social media strategies to increase engagement.
  • Create and curate content for various platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.), highlighting our library projects, mentorship programs, and read-a-thon initiatives.
  • Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely manner.

Content Creation:

  • Generate visually appealing and compelling content to showcase our library projects and mentorship programs.
  • Collaborate with the team to gather stories and testimonials to share on social media.

Campaign Coordination:

  • Assist in planning and executing online campaigns to promote fundraising initiatives and community involvement.
  • Coordinate with volunteers and team members to gather content for specific campaigns.
  • Discover schools and individuals eager to initiate a read-a-thon fundraiser. Aid in the onboarding process, monitor school engagement, and devise innovative methods to link participating students with our village schools.

Analytics and Reporting:

  • Monitor social media analytics to assess the effectiveness of campaigns and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Provide regular reports on key performance metrics and suggest improvements.

Online Mentorship

  • Actively engage in virtual mentorship, fostering a supportive online relationship with student(s) abroad by providing guidance on extracurricular educational pursuits, including assistance with homework, reading, and exploring enjoyable study topics.

Qualifications:

  • Passion for education and community development
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency and familiarity with major social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and others.
  • Ability to create engaging and visually appealing content, including graphics, videos, and other multimedia assets, to effectively communicate the NGO's mission and initiatives.
  • Familiarity with social media analytics tools to track and analyze performance metrics, assess the effectiveness of campaigns, and provide insights for improvement.
  • Commitment to maintaining brand consistency across all social media channels, ensuring a cohesive and recognizable online presence.
  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master's program
  • Willingness to serve as a mentor to one of our mentees, fostering a supportive and encouraging relationship that contributes to the mentee's personal and academic growth.

Our mission is to instill a generational difference among villages around the world by bringing hope through books. We have village libraries all over the world including in Peru, Nepal, Belize, Ghana, and more. You can work with us internationally by working in one of our libraries, or you can work with us domestically by helping coordinate new library opportunities.
