Pet therapy-the use of trained animals to benefit patients and improve outcomes-is a way to effectively address patients' stress while in healthcare settings.

  • Physical health
    • Can improve motor skills, joint movement, and cardiovascular health. It can also help with exercise and lower blood pressure and heart rate.
  • Mental health
    • Can improve mood, reduce depression and anxiety, and decrease feelings of anger. Being around animals can also help reduce stress, tension, and anxiety hormones.
  • Social skills
    • Can help develop social skills, increase verbal communication, and improve interactions with others. It can also help reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation.
We welcome you and your pet to help us ease some stress, loneliness, depression, and isolation some of our patients experience.
