Greetings from Silver Circles at Search and Care!
Our goal is to recruit tech savvy volunteers who can coach seniors on a variety of digital devices at our senior technology coaching event located at the Corsi Senior Center in Manhattan's East Harlem on Friday, April 12th from 11:00am - 2:00pm.
◘ ABOUT US ◘
Search and Care, a 50-year-old Upper East Side nonprofit that works to help older adults (60+) remain safely and comfortably independent in their local community.
Search and Care’s "Silver Circles" program has been helping older adults increase their connectivity through the use of technology, in both one-on-one and group sessions, this is where you would come in as a volunteer!
◘ ABOUT THE EVENT ◘
On Friday, April 12th our event will be broken up into two parts:
From 11 AM to 12 PM we are hosting a workshop about the sign up process for the telehealth service MyChart.
From 12PM - 2PM will be our technology help portion of the event. Older adults can either ask volunteers to further discuss the workshop's topic or get general assistance with their phone, tablet, or laptop.
We're focused on building community and supporting local seniors by answering questions about their digital devices, and having a great time!
◘ WHY VOLUNTEER ◘
Silver Circles empowers and engages older adults to master technology/learn new skills, increases their connection to others (family/friends, medical providers, and more), increases peer support/camaraderie through group participation, and reduces loneliness and isolation.
◘ WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING ◘
Providing one on one hands-on technology coaching to seniors 60+ on a variety of digital devices including both Apple and Android products. You may need to assist with devices you are not familiar with but there will be support from staff and other volunteers if needed.
◘ WHAT IS REQUIRED ◘
- Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age to volunteer.
- Volunteers must provide an email for correspondence.
- *Background checked must be conducted before event date*
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a huge plus!!!

Search and Care is a not for profit social service agency that has helped over 10,000 older New York residents in the Upper East Side, East Harlem, and Upper West Side ranging from the ages 60-103.
Our experienced social workers, volunteers, and retired financial professionals make effective plans geared to each individual to maintain and hopefully improve their quality of life in our goal to help them remain in the community in their own homes as long as possible. Volunteers help us out tremendously in this regard!
We never charge a fee for our services.
