Mission Statement

Our mission is to seek out older people in the community who need help in managing life's daily activities or accessing essential services, and to provide them the support and companionship they require to live with security and dignity in the manner they choose.

Description

Search and Care is a not for profit social service agency that has helped over 10,000 East Harlem, Yorkville, Carnegie Hill residents ranging from the ages 60-108.

Our experienced social workers, volunteers, student interns and retired financial professionals we make effective plans geared to each individual to maintain and hopefully improve their quality of life in our goal to help them remain in the community in their own homes as long as possible.

Volunteers help us out tremendously. They go to our client’s homes and help make their day a bit easier. They will sit and listen to stories, read to those with deteriorating vision, food shop for those who cannot carry groceries up the stairs of their apartment. Our volunteers take our clients’ dogs for walks and also accompany our clients to doctor appointments or help run local errands.

We never charge a fee for our services.
