Mission and Vision: EmpowHERto is a transformative organization dedicated to nurturing the growth and empowerment of girls. By harnessing the power of pro-social behaviors, we provide the tools and support necessary for girls to thrive emotionally, mentally, and socially, enabling them to become their best selves. Our mission is to create an inclusive and supportive environment where girls can develop essential life skills, cultivate resilience, and foster a positive self-image. Through various programs and initiatives, we aim to equip girls with the knowledge and resources needed to navigate challenges, foster personal growth, and embrace leadership and entrepreneurial opportunities.

Key Principles and Objectives:

  1. Entrepreneurial Mindset: Foster an entrepreneurial mindset in girls, encouraging creative thinking, embracing innovation, and exploring opportunities for self-empowerment.
  2. Mentorship and Guidance: Recognize the invaluable role of mentors in the personal and professional development of girls. Facilitate mentorship programs connecting girls with experienced professionals who serve as role models and provide guidance and support.
  3. Emotional Resilience: Prioritize the emotional well-being of girls, recognizing its importance in personal growth and success. Equip girls with tools to navigate emotions, build resilience, and develop a healthy mindset through workshops, counseling, and peer support.

Board Member Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Governance: Provide strategic oversight and governance to ensure alignment with EmpowHERto's mission, vision, and objectives.
  2. Advocacy and Networking: Act as ambassadors for EmpowHERto, leveraging personal and professional networks to enhance the organization's visibility and impact.
  3. Financial Stewardship: Contribute to fundraising efforts, actively participate in donor cultivation, and assist in financial oversight to ensure the organization's sustainability.
  4. Programmatic Support: Offer expertise and insights to enhance program development, ensuring alignment with the organization's goals and principles.
  5. Risk Management: Identify and address potential risks that may impact the organization's ability to achieve its mission.
  6. Committee Participation: Engage in committee work as needed, providing valuable input and oversight to specific areas such as finance, governance, or development.
  7. Evaluation and Accountability: Participate in regular assessments of organizational performance and impact, holding leadership accountable for achieving strategic objectives.

Qualifications:

  1. Passion for empowering girls and promoting their emotional, mental, and social well-being.
  2. Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  3. Relevant professional experience in entrepreneurship, mentorship, mental health, education, or nonprofit governance.
  4. Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  5. Ability to commit time to regular board meetings, committee work, and special events.
