Do you have a knack for understanding complex systems and explaining them to others? Do you want to help remove barriers that prevent someone from accessing crucial benefits? If you would like to assist older people to apply and become eligible for public benefits such as ALTCS (Arizona Long Term Care System), LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program) or simple utility discounts, this could be the rewarding volunteer opportunity for you!
For this position, you should be comfortable making phone calls and utilizing a computer to send and receive emails, and sometimes attend Zoom meetings. There could also be occasional home visits to client houses. If you are bilingual (English/Spanish), that is a plus; however, it is not required. Because of the vulnerability of our clients and their information, volunteers must pass a background check and obtain a fingerprint clearance card. Training will be provided once the application process is complete.

Volunteers Ambassadors contribute anywhere from a few to over forty hours a week, serving through schools, senior centers, police departments, hospitals and other nonprofit and public organizations to help meet critical community needs. The Ambassador program offers maximum flexibility and choice to its volunteers.
