Trinity Hospice is seeking kind, compassionate, and dependable volunteers to visit our hospice patients. As a hospice volunteer, you will be an important part of the hospice team. As a Friendly Visitor Volunteer, you provide much-needed companionship to our hospice patients, by visiting them wherever they may live. Our volunteers engage patients in the following activities:
- Friendly conversation and reminiscing
- Reading to your patient
-Writing letters or life stories for your patient
- Playing games
- Sharing hobbies and interest
- Playing music
- Watching TV/Movies with your patient
- And Much Much More!
We provide full training in Hospice philosophy and volunteer duties. Orientation and on-going support to all our volunteers is provided! Background and reference check required at no cost to our volunteers. You will be driving to patients home for visits, so you will need a reliable mode of transportation. We will work with your schedule!
Volunteers must be 18 years or older to volunteer directly with patients. No previous training or volunteer work required. You must have your own reliable vehicle and be willing to travel short distances to visit patients. We serve patients in Charlottesville city, Albemarle, Nelson, and Louisa counties.
We have many ways for volunteers to engage and change the lives of our patients, follow our Volunteer Match page, visit our website www.trinityhospice.com/volunteers or email Holly Tole for information about volunteer opportunities.
