Senior Friendship Centers is seeking volunteers to teach Powerful Tools for Caregivers classes at our Caregiver Recourse Centers. These classes help caregivers take better care of themselves while caring for a friend or relative. A training course will be provided, and then volunteers will assist in presenting classes.
Location:
- Training can be completed virtually. Teach classes at either our Sarasota or Venice locations: 1888 Brother Geenen Way, Sarasota, FL 34236 or 2350 Scenic Drive Venice Florida 34293
Schedule:
- After training, must commit to teaching at least two classes annually. Dates and times are to-be-scheduled.
Requirements:
- Must complete online training course.
- Experience with teaching/facilitation teaching.
- Experience with dementia preferred.
- Able to reliably commit to a weekly shift.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, especially when interacting with seniors.
- Ability to interact professionally with all staff, clients, volunteers, and community partners.
- Friendly, flexible, able to handle challenges, and able to work with limited supervision.
- Must possess cultural awareness and sensitivity for all individuals and groups.
