Position Overview: Chiquita Jackson Enterprise is seeking a qualified and dedicated Volunteer Research and Advocacy Manager to lead research projects on poverty alleviation in Maryland and Michigan. The role involves defining research questions, developing proposals, managing research projects, and advocating for positive change based on evidence-driven insights.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage research projects on poverty alleviation in Maryland and Michigan, considering social, cultural, and gender norms in different communities.
2. Define research questions, topics, and timelines, and develop comprehensive research proposals.
3. Write, edit, and ensure quality control for research reports and presentations.
4. Compile and share research and data related to local, national institutions, relevant ministries, and donors as needed.
5. Develop issue-oriented advocacy content for communication channels such as emails, websites, and social media.
6. Track local and national legislative and policy issues relevant to Chiquita Jackson Enterprise, developing strategies to keep the board, staff, and community informed.
7. Build and maintain strategic partnerships with local authorities, sub-national and national institutions/ministries.
8. Ensure evidence-based data on program/project implementation is documented and available to CJEnterprise, donors, and others.
9. Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Experience in managing research projects, with a focus on poverty alleviation and community development.
• Strong research, writing, and editing skills.
• Familiarity with advocacy strategies and content development.
• Knowledge of local and national legislative and policy issues related to poverty and social impact.
• Ability to build and maintain strategic partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Reporting: This position reports to the President & CEO.
