About Us:

Youth Action Services Inc is a newly founded nonprofit organization whose mission is to embrace and empower children and their families in the New York City municipal shelter system and children who have been affected due to homelessness by providing participants with a 360 holistic approach to offer a chance for a better life and future. Committed to making a difference, we are seeking a passionate and skilled individual to join as the Chief Development Officer (Co-Founder) on a voluntary basis.


Position Overview:

As a key member of the funding team, the Chief Development Officer will play a crucial role in establishing and implementing the organization’s fundraising strategy as well as creating new partnership opportunities. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a startup nonprofit committed to creating positive change within our community and beyond.



Responsibilities:

  • Fundraising Strategy:
      • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to meet the financial needs of the organization.
      • Identify and prioritize potential funding sources, including grants, individual donors, corporate partnerships, and fundraising events.
  • Grant Management:
      • Research, identify, and pursue grant opportunities that align with the nonprofit's mission and goals.
      • Prepare and submit grant proposals, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
  • Individual Giving:
      • Cultivate and steward relationships with individual donors, focusing on both major donors and grassroots fundraising efforts.
      • Develop and execute campaigns to engage and solicit support from individual donors.
  • Corporate Partnerships:
      • Identify and approach potential corporate partners for sponsorship, donations, or collaborative initiatives.
      • Build and maintain relationships with corporate stakeholders to enhance support.
  • Fundraising Events:
      • Plan and execute fundraising events, considering both virtual and in-person formats based on resources and circumstances.
      • Coordinate logistics, recruit volunteers, and ensure effective promotion of events.
  • Donor Communication:
      • Develop and implement donor communication strategies to keep donors informed and engaged.
      • Regularly communicate impact and success stories to donors through newsletters, emails, and other channels.
  • Budget Oversight:
    • Work collaboratively with the finance team to develop and monitor fundraising budgets.
    • Ensure alignment of fundraising goals with the overall financial needs of the organization.

Collaboration and Team Building:

  • Collaborate with other leadership team members to align fundraising efforts with programmatic goals.
  • Build and lead a high-performing development team or engage volunteers as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Proven experience in nonprofit fundraising, with a focus on securing grants, major gifts, and corporate partnerships.
  • Strong knowledge of fundraising best practices and trends.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Familiarity with the mission and goals of Youth Action Services Inc

Youth Action Services, Inc is a new 501c3 organization. Understanding Brooklyn, NY serves some of the cities poorest neighborhoods which includes high number of homelessness. I am pleased to introduce this new organization as it is the mission, duty, and purpose of You Action Services, Inc to address, educate, coordinate and provide tools to children who have been impacted by losing their home. The services we plan to provide include After-School program; mentoring program; summer day camp; and therapeutic services. We are connecting with professionals to help fulfill our mission and also taking necessary steps to become an outpatient clinic under article 31.
