Job Title: Chief Strategy & Operations Officer - Volunteer Opportunity Organization: Youth Action Services Inc Location: Brooklyn, NY About Us: Youth Action Services Inc is a newly founded nonprofit organization whose mission is to embrace and empower children and their families in the New York City municipal shelter system. Children who have been affected due to homelessness will be provided with a 360 holistic approach to offer a chance for a better life and future. Committed to making a difference, we are seeking a passionate and skilled individual to join as the Chief Strategy & Operations Officer (Co-Founder) on a voluntary basis. Position Overview: We are seeking visionary and passionate individuals to join me as founding leaders in establishing a groundbreaking nonprofit organization committed to making a positive impact. As Co-Founders, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the organization's mission, vision, and strategies, working collaboratively to address pressing challenges and create lasting change. The Chief Strategy and Operations Officer for YAS will oversee operational functions, and ensure the effective and efficient execution of YAS’s mission and goals. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Planning: Develop, refine, and implement YAS’s strategic plan in collaboration with the Founder/President. Provide strategic guidance to ensure alignment with YAS’s mission and vision. Continuously evaluate market trends, emerging opportunities, and potential risks to inform strategic decision making. Operational Oversight: Implement and optimize the operational process to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Collaborate with the founding leadership team to align operational activity with strategic objectives. Financial Management: Work closely with the Founder/President to develop and manage YAS’s budget Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions as needed. Ensure financial sustainability and responsible resource allocation. Program Development and Evaluation: Oversee the projected development and implementation of programs and initiatives in line with organizational goals. Establish metrics and evaluation framework to assess program impact and effectiveness. Identify opportunities for program growth and improvement. Partnership and Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate and manage strategic partnerships with external organizations, donors, and stakeholders. Represent the organization in meetings, conferences, and collaborations to enhance visibility and influence. Team Leadership: Provide strong leadership to the operations team, fostering a collaborative and results driven culture. Recruit, develop, and retain top talent, ensuring a high performing and motivated work culture. Risk Management: Identify and assess organizational risks, developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards. Innovation and Change Management: Drive innovation within the organization, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Lead change change efforts to successfully implement new strategies for initiatives. Reporting and Communication: Regularly report to the Founder/CEO on organizational performance. Communicate key strategic and operational updates to internal and external audiences. Qualifications: Passion for Youth Action Services Inc mission and commitment to volunteering time and expertise. Bachelor’s degree in business administration, nonprofit management, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred Proven experience in a senior leadership role, preferably in a nonprofit organization Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills Excellent organizational and project management abilities Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong partnerships. Please note: This organization is a newly nonprofit organization. Position Overview: As a key member of the funding team, the Chief Development Officer will play a crucial role in establishing and implementing the organization’s fundraising strategy as well as creating new partnership opportunities. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a startup nonprofit committed to creating positive change within our community and beyond. Responsibilities: Fundraising Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to meet the financial needs of the organization. Identify and prioritize potential funding sources, including grants, individual donors, corporate partnerships, and fundraising events. Grant Management: Research, identify, and pursue grant opportunities that align with the nonprofit's mission and goals. Prepare and submit grant proposals, ensuring timely and accurate submissions. Individual Giving: Cultivate and steward relationships with individual donors, focusing on both major donors and grassroots fundraising efforts. Develop and execute campaigns to engage and solicit support from individual donors. Corporate Partnerships: Identify and approach potential corporate partners for sponsorship, donations, or collaborative initiatives. Build and maintain relationships with corporate stakeholders to enhance support. Fundraising Events: Plan and execute fundraising events, considering both virtual and in-person formats based on resources and circumstances. Coordinate logistics, recruit volunteers, and ensure effective promotion of events. Donor Communication: Develop and implement donor communication strategies to keep donors informed and engaged. Regularly communicate impact and success stories to donors through newsletters, emails, and other channels. Budget Oversight: Work collaboratively with the finance team to develop and monitor fundraising budgets. Ensure alignment of fundraising goals with the overall financial needs of the organization. Collaboration and Team Building: Collaborate with other leadership team members to align fundraising efforts with programmatic goals. Build and lead a high-performing development team or engage volunteers as needed. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related field (Master's degree preferred). Proven experience in nonprofit fundraising, with a focus on securing grants, major gifts, and corporate partnerships. Strong knowledge of fundraising best practices and trends. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Position Overview: The Director of Communications and Development will set and guide the strategy for all communications, website, and public relations messages and collateral to consistently articulate Youth Action Services’ mission. The Director of Communications will ensure that Youth Action Services’ mission and vision is accurately conveyed to the public. The Director of Communications and Development will also anticipate lucrative financial partnerships and maintain those external relationships necessary for the success of Youth Action Services . This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a startup nonprofit committed to creating positive change within our community and beyond. The Director of Communications and Development will work closely with the Founders of YAS as the communications partner on a variety of strategic initiatives. Responsibilities Develop communicative strategies for the dissemination of all news and information relevant to Y.A.S’ mission. Ensure the modes of communication have the utmost efficacy. Scout potential donors for Y.A.S and work with the team to establish partnership. Spearhead team responsible for online media-including website management. Oversee team responsible for maintenance of donor relationships and fundraising. Coordinate webpage maintenance-ensure that new and consistent information (article links, stories, and events) is posted regularly. Track and measure the level of engagement within the network over time Lead fundraising tactics and work with a team to pitch innovative fundraising ideas. Work collaboratively with the financial team to develop and monitor fundraising budget. Qualifications Youth Action Services is seeking a Director of Communications and Development with knowledge of development and communications. The ideal candidate possesses: Knowledge or experience with adolescents and/or in education.
