Do you enjoy working with youth? Do you have teaching or tutoring experience? Are you creative or musical? We need YOU! Your time can positively impact the future of our community's youth!

History, Math and Science Tutors Needed:
The Salvation Army is seeking motivated volunteers (18 years old+) to help tutor children (ages Kindergarten through 12 years old) at our KidVenture Summer Day Camp. The camp is held at our All Nations Corps. (1001 N. Richey Blvd.)

This morning educational and tutoring portion of the program runs Monday - Friday, from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm.


Arts & Crafts and Music Instructors Needed:

The Salvation Army is seeking enthusiastic volunteers who love working with children to help instruct youth participants with arts & crafts, music and sports. *All equipment and supplies will be provided.

The afternoon music, sports and arts portion of the program runs Monday - Friday, from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm.

Description

The Salvation Army provides services to the Tucson community by way of temporary shelter, transitional housing, case management, job training, and GED Training. We hand out food boxes, water and clothing to those in need.

We also have youth programs such as day and summer camps and after school programs similar to Boy and Girl Scouts.

During the holidays, we provide meals for community members on Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter. We also host the Christmas Angel Giving Tree and Adopt-a-Family program for those in need at Christmas.

  • Volunteers are needed for three to four hours once or twice a week, (or more if available and desired).
