The vision of Lafayette Habitat for Humanity is a community where everyone has a safe, decent, and affordable place to live. We believe affordable housing plays a critical role in strong and stable communities and is a foundation for breaking the cycle of poverty.

In addition to building homes, Lafayette Habitat also provides critical home repairs. The core repair crew undertakes minor repairs and improvements for homeowners, such as installing a wheel chair ramp, painting the exterior or interior, removing rotting steps, etc. These repairs help improve the homeowners quality of life and improve the safety of their homes.

We would love to talk to you more about these opportunities and how you can help!

Please feel free to reach out to volunteer@habitatlafayette.org or call 337.456.4671.

About Lafayette Habitat for Humanity

Location:

823 W. Congress Street, Lafayette, LA 70501, US

Mission Statement

Lafayette Habitat for Humanity's mission is to put God's love into action by bringing people together to build homes, communities, and hope. Together, we can broaden access to safe, affordable housing right here in Acadiana.

Description

Lafayette Habitat for Humanity (LHFH), one of more than 1,700 U.S. affiliates of Habitat for Humanity International, is a Christian ministry that welcomes all people dedicated to the cause of eliminating poverty housing.

Since 1992, volunteers from corporations, faith-based ministries, and civic organizations have worked in partnership with qualified homebuyers to construct affordable, sustainable homes, which are then purchased through zero-interest mortgages.

As of 2023, LHFH has built and rehabilitated nearly 150 homes in south Louisiana. For more information, please visit www.habitatlafayette.org or call 337-261-5041.
