Friendly Visitor Volunteers Needed (Multiple Locations)

We are looking for volunteers for our Friendly Visitor program. The Friendly Visitor Program matches compassionate adults with seniors in need of some extra support and social interaction. Volunteers visit on a regular basis to provide support to seniors living on their own. Regular visits often lead to lasting and meaningful friendships.

Friendly Visitor Volunteers’ primary tasks include:

• Companionship and Safety Supervision
• Play games or engage in creative arts
• Short-distance walks
• Reading, watching TV/movies together
• Other tasks subject to negotiation with visitors and Case Managers

Volunteers are not allowed to:

• Lift a person who has fallen to the floor or ground (911 should be called)
• Transport clients in volunteer's personal or client’s vehicle
• Run errands for clients in volunteer’s personal or client’s vehicle
• Provide personal care (grooming, toileting, bathing)
• Move furniture
• Housekeeping
• Accept money or donations or tips, gifts, hospitality or entertainment worth more than $20 in value

REQUIREMENTS :

• Must be +18
  • +14 may be accompanied by an adult
• Completed Volunteer Application & background check
