MISSION: The mission of Mothers Against Drunk Driving is to end drunk driving, help fight drugged driving, support the victims of these violent crimes and prevent underage drinking.

TITLE OF POSITION: Court Monitor Volunteer

PURPOSE OF JOB: To support the mission of MADD by observing DUI court cases, being a presence in court, and being part of events and opportunities.

DUTIES:

• Attend DUI misdemeanor court proceedings in person.
• Participate in development training, meetings, events, and program opportunities.
• Provide feedback to MADD staff to ensure the continued success of the program.

TRAINING:

• Intake interview and orientation.
• Online training is to be completed individually before the due date. (1 module).
• one-on-one training with MADD staff, either in person or virtually.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Age 18 or older
• Reliable transportation to/from the courthouse
• Respect for confidentiality
• Background check required

TIME COMMITMENT REQUIRED:

• Flexible schedule: Volunteers choose dates, and observations are made during courthouse hours. Expect to be at the courthouse based on the judge's time, typically from 8 am to 4 pm on chosen dates.
• Volunteers will be asked to submit the total number of hours they volunteered at the end of each month.

LOCATION:

MADD Colorado has activated the Court Monitoring Program in over 12 counties in Colorado.

We are currently seeking monitors in Mesa County.
