ORGANIZATION: City of Auburn

The Auburn MTB program offers a variety of classes and programs around bike skills and bike safety. Auburn MTB is seeking volunteers to serve as ride leaders, volunteer coaches and mentors in programs for youth ranging in age from 2-18 years old. Programs consist of learn-to-ride programs for all ages, mountain bike skills workshops for youth ages 5-18, community bike skills and safety events and community outreach.

Additional details and duties:

  • Bike Maintenance Assistance- inflating tires, sizing helmets, managing gear, bike repairs, etc.
  • Ride Leader- lead teens on mountain bike trails, assist with basic skills instruction, assist with assessing participant skill levels. *Mountain Bike Experience is required in this role.
  • Learn-to-Ride coach/instructor- assist the program leader with facilitation of learn-to-ride curriculum, encourage and celebrate youth growth and success.
  • Mt. Bike Skills Coach/instructor- assist with small group skill building, mountain biking skills is important, encourage youth, engage with all youth participants.
  • Special Events- assist with set up and tear down of community outreach events around bike skills and bike safety, assist with helmet fittings, answer questions from the public, lead stations/activities as required.

  • Lead small groups of youth in skill building activities
  • Bike Maintenance skills are appreciated
  • A strong desire to work with you and empower them to be strong, safe bicycle enthusiasts.
**Mountain biking skills are not required for all positions. Volunteer training is provided.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be at least 16 years old
  • Ability to pass a background check completed by the City of Auburn
