Heartland Hospice is seeking military veterans who wish to continue serving others by offering their companionship and encouragement to fellow veterans who are now in hospice care.
Our veteran volunteers serve by making visits to hospice patients, giving their family caregivers a much-needed short break. Veteran volunteers also provide veterans in hospice care the gift of conversation with someone who understands the impact serving in the military.
At Heartland we honor our veterans with pinning ceremonies and attendance at funerals and memorial services, and our veteran volunteers are an important part of that as well.

Hospice isn’t a place. It’s a philosophy of care. Heartland Hospice is dedicated to providing patients with care wherever they consider home. Whether in a private home, a skilled nursing center or an assisted living facility, we tailor our caregiving to fit the patient’s and family’s unique needs. Our caregivers help manage pain and symptoms, enabling patients to live life as fully and comfortably as possible. Social workers and spiritual counselors create a comforting environment in which patients and families are able to share their thoughts, hopes and concerns. Bereavement programs provide emotional support to patients and families who need help coping with loss. Heartland Hospice is dedicated to uphold each patient’s and family’s wishes, goals and values.
