We are looking for a person who is as passionate and enthusiastic about our organization’s mission as we are, someone with an understanding of the importance this work has in our local community as well as driving change around the world.
A Development Director’s responsibilities include having experience leading major gift programs at organizations or schools because we know it takes more than money if you want your ideas fulfilled.
Ultimately, you will work to help grow the organization and increase donorship throughout the year.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with the board of directors to create and implement a fundraising plan that supports the budget and vice versa.
- Maintain relationships with existing sponsors with the help of the organization
- Obtain financial support from individuals and organizations with the support of the organization
- Manage fundraising committee and special events
- Generate development materials such as grants and case statements
- Access to and input on the budget
- Proven work experience as a Development Director or similar role
- Superb written and verbal communication skills to speak with donors and other stakeholders across the organization
- Work with fundraising software and tools to track progress throughout the year (no tools selected yet)
- Good organizational and time management skills to help keep projects on track

Mission Statement
Papayago Rescue House, Inc. will exist to support the well-being and maintenance of exotic birds, namely parrots, and their people families that require intervention and/or support services to thrive. Papayago Rescue House, Inc. will act in a not-for-profit manner to target parrots for rescue, rehabilitation, and re-homing. To better serve the 3rd largest pet community in the world, we will work with bird owners to increase their knowledge, provide mentoring and training to coping with parrot ownership to lessen the need for parrot owners to give up their birds. The community will be better supported to maintain the birds in their care to reduce how often birds are re-homed or placed in community facilities not equipped to handle bird requirements and behavior.
