Santa Barbara Agriculture & Farm Education Foundation:

Sweet Wheel Farm Volunteer

Description: Spend time outdoors on the Sweet Wheel Summerland Farm while learning regenerative, organic agriculture techniques. Whether you're a gardening novice or a seasoned pro, we invite you to roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty in the soil. We depend on the passion, energy, and talent of volunteers like you to help provide fresh, pesticide-free produce to those facing food insecurity. The size of our farm directly correlates with the size of our volunteer base, meaning more volunteers equals more food grown!

As a token of our appreciation, we’ll reward you with a $10 farmstand certificate for every shift worked, and weekly, regular volunteers can enjoy a 50% discount at the farmstand!

Specific Duties:

  • Planting seeds and transplanting seedlings.
  • Weeding, plant removal, and cleanup.
