Job Summary:

The Community Outreach Committee Member plays a pivotal role in the Counselors in the Community Association Co. Their key responsibility is to directly engage with local communities, build relationships, and communicate CITCA's mission to improve healthcare outcomes and manage care for individuals facing socioeconomic barriers.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop, implement, and coordinate community-based outreach initiatives that align with CITCA's mission.
  2. Foster strong relationships with community leaders, local organizations, and individuals to promote CITCA's programs and initiatives.
  3. Coordinate with the Digital Outreach and Programming Committees to ensure consistency in messaging and to maximize the impact of CITCA's initiatives.
  4. Organize community events to raise awareness about CITCA's work, aiming to educate the community about the mental health crisis and economic disparities.
  5. Gather feedback from the community on CITCA's initiatives and relay that information back to the appropriate teams for evaluation and further action.
  6. Participate in fundraising efforts to support CITCA's work in the community.

Qualifications:

  1. A strong passion for CITCA's mission and a desire to drive change in local communities.
  2. Previous experience in community outreach, public relations, or a similar role is preferential.
  3. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage a wide range of audiences.
  4. Familiarity with the healthcare sector and socioeconomic challenges that individuals in the community face.
  5. Proven ability to work well in a team-oriented environment and to coordinate efforts across teams.

Mission Statement

Counselors in the Community Alliance- CITCA serves disadvantaged individuals throughout the United States from urban & rural communities with mental and behavioral health resources by increasing access to services, resources and support for children, adults and families impacted by poverty and poverty-related issues and bridge the gaps to strengthen community resilience through stewardship, economic opportunities, health and education equity.

Description

CITCA is a national 501c3 on a powerful mission to increase strengthen mental health awareness and community resilience. Our association includes a collaborative alliance among counselors, mental health professionals, and community members nationwide engaging in civic community activities that promote mental health awareness and resiliency. Through such allyship the organization strengthens anti-poverty initiatives that bridge the gaps on access to care and socioeconomic resources including programs, education and employment resources.

Since incorporating the nonprofit has been driving impact in social emotional learning, SEL and increasing access to counseling services for low income families. The organization also offer programs for youth leadership development, advocacy, community resources and programs that contribute to prosocial development and other services to close equity gaps

We are seeking volunteers to serve with us who share similar passions to increase mental health awareness and strengthen communities. Volunteers are the driving force our mission would be incomplete without and we welcome all with a passion too serve.
