Thank you for your interest in this volunteering opportunity.
You would be working with students preparing for their high school equivalency (GED or HiSET) tests. Most students are at a basic literacy level. We have evidence-based reading curriculum for several levels of reading. Volunteers get to pick the reading level they will work with after completing a 14.5 hour basic literacy training. The training is self-paced. We give you two weeks to complete the training. Once you have completed the self-paced training, you may ask questions at our in-person meeting by appointment. You will have ongoing professional development. The volunteer will be working with two students, maximum, at once.
