SoulPhamm is a new, nonprofit organization that provides sports and arts activities for young people in New Jersey and New York City. You can learn more about us by visiting www.soulphamm.org.
For our upcoming 4th season - we are looking for individuals with the following gifts to join our coaching team and lead the following teams (ages served are in parentheses)-
1. Hip-Hop Majorette Mini Dance (girls ages 5 to 10)
2. Hip-Hop Majorette Dance Seniors (girls ages 11-17)
3. Drum Major Coach (Hip-Hop Dancer Experience Required)(Co-Ed ages 15-21)
4. Drumline Coach (Co-Ed ages 13-21)
5. Hip-Hop Dance Choreographer (Working with Stomp/Shake, Fraternity & Step Teams)(Co-Ed ages 13-21)
6. Step Team Coach (Co-Ed ages 13-21)
7. Drama/Social Media Marketing Instructor (Co-Ed ages 13-21)
Most of these teams practice on Saturdays from 1pm to 4pm in Downtown Newark. There is also opportunity for coaches to set virtual practice times during weeknights. The season runs from August to June. We are recruiting for our 2024-2025 season (tryouts will begin in June).

Description
Our vision is to promote virtue, equity, unity, justice, faith, charity and a sense of common purpose and brotherhood among all people with an emphasis on the development and advancement of young people through education, athletics, service and the arts.
SoulPhamm was incorporated as a nonprofit organization in the state of New Jersey on June 25, 2021 and is the "birth-child" of Coach Luis ("Lou") and Dr. Leisa Herrera ("Mz. Doc"). The organization exists to provide training to young people in a variety of sports and performing arts and unique opportunities to display those talents through competition and performance. By integrating mentoring, life skills, opportunities for community service and academic enrichment to the athletic/artistic program, we help make our scholar-athletes as well-rounded as possible, capable of meeting and overcoming any challenges they are faced with. Although Coach Lou passed away suddenly in January 2021, the official launch of SoulPhamm was held on June 26, 2021, which coincided with his birthday weekend. SoulPhamm will recognize its own founding, as well as the achievements of our young people every year on the fourth Saturday of June, as a tribute to the life and legacy of Coach Lou.
