Description:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Book Club Assistant to join our thriving book club community. If you are an avid reader who enjoys both fiction and nonfiction, has a keen eye for detail, and loves engaging in literary discussions, this volunteer position is perfect for you.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Reading the Book of the Month: The Book Club Assistant will read and engage with the selected book of the month in-depth, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the text.
2. Generating Discussion Questions: Create thought-provoking discussion questions and topics related to the monthly book selection to stimulate meaningful conversations among book club members.
3. Content Creation: Collaborate with the book club's leadership to develop engaging content such as blog posts, social media updates, and promotional materials to attract and retain members.
4. Assisting with Book Club Expansion: Participate in brainstorming and implementing strategies to expand the book club's reach, membership, and activities.
5. Facilitating Meetings: Occasionally, lead book club discussions, ensuring a welcoming and inclusive environment for all members.
6. Research and Recommending Books: Stay informed about current literary trends and recommend books for future club selections.
7. Engaging with Members: Foster a sense of community by actively engaging with book club members, answering questions, and encouraging participation.
8. Event Planning: Assist in planning and organizing special events, such as author Q&A sessions, themed book discussions, and book-related outings.

Qualifications:

• A genuine passion for reading both fiction and nonfiction books.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to generate thought-provoking discussion questions.
• Creativity and a knack for content creation and marketing.
• Reliable availability on Thursdays from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
• Enthusiasm for expanding the book club's activities and membership.
• Prior experience with book clubs or similar community organizations is a plus, but not required.
