ORGANIZATION: DISCOVERY STATION AT HAGERSTOWN INC

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers who love children and want to help them discover the joy of STEAM! Community Outreach Volunteers represent Discovery Station at school events such as evening STEM Nights and local festivals such as Pride and Krumpee’s Donut Drop. This opportunity is ideal for motivated adults who are experienced with children's programming and unable to volunteer during Discovery Stations' regular operating hours.


Duties

  • Hosts tables and represents Discovery Station at a variety of off-site events
  • Engages children in hands-on science and art activities developed by Discovery Station Staff
  • Assists with or leads programming in a variety of group settings
  • Acts as an advocate for the organization and STEAM learning

Skills

  • Experience teaching or STEAM background preferred
  • Positive attitude and Friendly Disposition
  • Loves working with children
  • Public Speaking
  • Independent and Dependable worker
