Grants & Proposals Coordinator for Ripples in Africa

Help secure vital funding to empower women-led initiatives across West Africa! Ripples in Africa seeks a dedicated Grants & Proposals Coordinator to drive our fundraising efforts and expand our impact on communities.

Key Responsibilities:

- Grant Research & Identification:
- Identify potential grant opportunities aligned with our mission of supporting women entrepreneurs and sustainable agriculture.
- Maintain a database of funding sources, deadlines, and requirements.

- Proposal Development:
- Write compelling grant proposals and letters of inquiry, highlighting our programs' impact on 17,200 women entrepreneurs and 45,000 children.
- Collaborate with program teams to gather data and success stories for proposals.
- Ensure proposals align with Ripples in Africa's mission and Yaji Spice's ethical trade initiatives.

- Grant Management:
- Coordinate the grant application process, ensuring all materials are submitted on time.
- Track active grants and manage reporting requirements.
- Liaise with the finance team to ensure proper allocation and tracking of grant funds.

- Relationship Building:
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with current and potential funders.
- Prepare briefing materials for the leadership team's meetings with funders.

- Impact Reporting:
- Compile data on program outcomes, such as the 27% income increase for women entrepreneurs.
- Create compelling narratives and visual reports to showcase our work in climate-resilient farming and gender equity.

Required Skills:

- Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft persuasive narratives.
- Strong research and analytical capabilities.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and grant management software.
- Understanding of nonprofit fundraising principles and best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience in grant writing or proposal development, particularly in international development or women's empowerment sectors.
- Knowledge of major institutional donors and foundations in the international development space.
- Familiarity with logical frameworks and theory of change models.

Impact You'll Make:

- Secure funding to expand our reach, potentially supporting thousands more women entrepreneurs and their families.
- Enable the growth of sustainable, women-led businesses through Yaji Spice and other initiatives.
- Contribute to the long-term sustainability of our programs promoting gender equity and environmental stewardship.

Time Commitment: 15-20 hours/week (flexible)
Location: Remote

Ripples works in Ghana, Madagascar and Nigeria, and has worked funded and provided funding that has benefited over 6,000 since it's inception in the UK in 2005. We currently have a Farm project: http://ripplesfoundation.ngo/ripples-farms.php; and an Experential Internship program: http://ripplesfoundation.ngo/internship.php
We want to encourage American youth to develop international lenses and become immersed in a rich culture where they are part of the solution as well as create a hands on learning environment on creative ways to humanitarian efforts. We are in partnership with a several universities and successfully completed a trips with students from Europe and the United States. We want to raise funds and awareness for the program. We have several reports and videos from past students after their visits. We have several projects going on in Africa which served as an internship for the students.
