Great Explorations hosts a plethora of special events, activities, specialized days, educational programs, and more. With all the offerings the museum has, there is always tasks to prepare prior to the events. This volunteer opportunity will help with those pop-up tasks as needed. There is not a set schedule to when we will have bigger projects but help is always needed.

Our mission is to stimulate learning through creativity, play, and exploration. We fulfill our mission through offering interactive exhibits and educational STREAM programming within a learning environment that is informal, creative and fun!

Description

Great Explorations has served the children and families of the Bay area for over 35 years. Each exhibit is designed to enhance skill sets that our children are working on at such a young age. We are not only a hands on Children's Museum. We also offer a preschool age 2-5 as well as schools out camps, summer camps, and our afterschool care for children Kindergarten through fifth grade. Great Explorations is the very first and only mid-sized Children's Museum accredited by the American Alliance of Museums, holding the highest honor a museum can receive. This puts us in the same company as the Smithsonian, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Dalí, and other nationally known museums. Great Exploration is the place where ALL children can learn and play, regardless of varying abilities or socioeconomic status.
