Stark County Campus Food Pantry Volunteer Description
While working at the pantry, volunteers will sign in guests using the pantry's intake system and assist if guests need help ordering. Volunteers also support pantry operations and assist guests during open hours.
The pantry is open on Tuesdays 9am to 1pm and Wednesdays 9am to 3pm. Volunteers will have the option to serve during the listed shift times: Tuesdays 8:30am-11:00am or 11:00am-1:30pm, Wednesdays 8:30am-12pm or 12pm to 3:30pm. Pantry restock opportunities are Tuesdays 1:30pm to 4pm and Fridays 9am to 12pm.
Responsibilities:
- Greet pantry guests
- Check in guests using an intake system
- Assist guests who cannot shop in-person by using an iPad to order
- Direct guests to shop produce items and other perishable items
- Inform guests about services available from resource room partners
- Maintain a tidy and organized area
Training:
- Training will take place on site.

Description
The Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank is a nonprofit organization with a vision of a thriving community free of hunger. This year, 1 in 8 people in Northeast Ohio will face hunger, and the Foodbank will be there to help. The Foodbank is the souce of emergency food for nearly 500 food pantries, hot meal sites, shelters and other hunger-relief programs that directly serve individuals and families in Carroll, Holmes, Medina, Portage, Stark, Summit, Tuscarawas and Wayne Counties.
The Foodbank, with its supporters and partners are leading the fight to end hunger in the communities they serve. In 2018, it helped provide access to food for 24.5 million meals to its network of hunger-relief partners.
